The story of Mohor Star Jalsha serial revolves around Mohor, an ambitious girl, who has a single dream in life : to study further. On a certain day she tops the state level competition in debate and returns home. Her father confronts her. An elated Mohor tells him about her achievement. But he is just least bothered about that. He asks her why she is so late. Then he tells her that he has fixed a date for her engagement. Unfortunately its the same day when she has an important exam. Her father tells her she should forget about the exam and get engaged.
Mohor decides to elope. She lands up in Kolkata, an unknown city altogether to her. She is denied admission in her college. But she has an indomitable spirit. She decides to carry on with her studies come what may.
Sonamoni of ‘Debi Choudhurani’ fame will portray the role of Mohor. Whereas Pratik Sen will play the male lead role opposite Sonamoni in this TV show. Pratik hit the limelight with the TV serial Khokababu. He was very popular with the audience for his role in this TV show. Khokababu has gone off air.
